We see each person as a unique, loved creation of God and welcome all people to the full life of Christian community, including marriage. We believe God intends loving relationships to be faithful, responsible, just, healing and sustaining of the couple and those around them, and that such relationships require preparation and encouragement.
Eltham URC welcomes enquiries from any couples wishing to be married in the church, whether they are members of the church or not. We would encourage couples to come along to the Sunday service to see the church at worship and to get a feel for the atmosphere and ethos of the community.
The minister can provide you with information regarding legal requirements, the order of service, readings and music.
On 9th July 2016, the United Reformed Church empowered local churches to conduct same-sex marriages. Eltham URC has voted to permit same-sex marriage within the church. The minister would be delighted to officiate at the wedding of any committed couple, regardless of gender or sexual orientation.
Please contact the minister, Rev. Ian Gow, for further information.
